National Certificate in Massage Therapy

The Massage Therapy National Certificate (Level-2) Examination seeks to assess and determine whether or not graduates of massage therapy schools in the Philippines can perform in the workplace based on the defined competency standards. Certification is provided by the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) to those who meet the competency standards.

Body Options' Review Program consists of a course designed to supplement the skills, knowledge and attitudes of massage therapists in accordance with industry standards. It covers the review of basic, common and core competencies such as: work within a holistic therapeutic massage framework, perform therapeutic massage treatment, plan the therapeutic massage treatment, implement the therapeutic massage treatment, perform remedial massage treatment and assist in the administration of therapeutic massage clinic or agency.

This class is an intensive review of material taught in Swedish (European) Massage and serves to aid the student in preparation for the National Certificate (Level-2) Examination administered by the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).
Instructors at Body Options understand there are different styles of learning which are dominant in each participant. Therefore, a variety of teaching tools and methods are utilized. In addition to lectures, classes are structured to provide visual aids and hands-on learning.
Entry Requirements / Qualifications:
- 18 to 60 years of age
- Birth certificate (must be a Filipino citizen)
- 2 Photocopies of Certificate of Training in Massage Therapy (Swedish Technique)
- 2 Photocopies of High School or College diploma
- 4 Pieces passport-size pictures (white background with collar)
- Scrub suit (blue color), hair net (or hair cap) and facial mask
- Rubber shoes with socks
- Blood pressure apparatus (sphygmomanometer and stethoscope)
- Digital thermometer
- 70% Isopropyl alcohol
- Massage lubricants (1 vegetable oil, 1 mineral oil, 1 lotion and 1 cream)
- 2 Large bath towels
- Massage bag
- Filled-up Competency Assessment Form
- Assessment fee: Php 500.00
